The Online Arrogance Indicator

When I'm not conducting seminars or publishing WDFM, I often attend trade shows, seminars, conferences, Power Breakfasts, Luncheons and the like. I must attend over 60 annually. I notice many of the presenters project, well, (as they say in SoCal) a really big personality. :)

I can't help but notice a pattern. The more 'tude or arrogance, the more likely they're in deep kudzu financially. Time and time again I'll see some windbag blowing hot air into the audience, like fireplace bellows on steroids, only to hear days or weeks later that they've gone belly-up, or fired 97% of their staff, leaving the CEO to turn the lights off and sell the domain name.

Tip: If you're in deep financial kudzu, act humble. It'll throw everyone off and have them thinking you're doing well. Be less dogmatic and bombastic. I notice that impressive facts delivered in an understated fashion draw more attention and respect. The same can be said for ad copy. :) LC
